The crisp air is slowly filling with cheerful birdsong again, nature is beginning to blossom and the spring sun is getting ready to melt the snow from the mountains. Spring in Austria offers the perfect opportunity to explore many of the excursion destinations and hiking trails in peace and quiet. Looking for inspiration for activities?

- Many hiking trails in the region are already free of snow and alpine huts are already open for business.
- With the Saalfelden Leogang Card, you can enjoy two free mountain railway rides per day.
- Skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier in Kaprun – and sunbathing in the afternoon
- The bikepark opens in mid-May.
- Rafting or canyoning offers even more action in spring, as the rivers have more water due to the snowmelt.
- The Krimml Waterfalls are also particularly impressive at this time of year.
- Many excursion destinations are already open and are not as crowded as in midsummer (Hohenwerfen Castle, Eisriesenwelt, Seisenbergklamm and many more).

- From mid-June to mid-July is the typical flowering season for the Almrausch (alpine rose) here in Leogang. Entire slopes in the grass mountains then bloom in vibrant pink!
