The miracle of water
Power place & natural asset in the Hotel der Löwe
In the hiking paradise of Leogang, not only the mountains but also the water quality are incomparable: Pure, crystal-clear, and healthy, the water comes straight from the tap at any time. Bubbling mountain springs in local mountain landscapes, not far from the Hotel der Löwe, ensure the cleanest and most natural water supply for humans and animals. In this blog post, learn where these springs can be found, what other exciting facets this natural resource has to offer, what role it plays at the Hotel der Löwe, and how you can cultivate a conscious approach to using this "pure gold."
Clear and pure: Leogang's mountain spring treasures
The mountain landscape in Leogang is rich in peaks and hiking trails. Those who don't shy away from the steep slopes and tough climbs are well advised to bring plenty of provisions and fluids. During the hike, you can also replenish your water reserves directly at fresh mountain springs. A popular stop for a cool refreshment during the hike is the clear reservoir at the Asitz. The lake blends elegantly into the mountain landscape. With Kneipp pools, a unique floating platform, and the Leogang Steinberge mountains in the background, the reservoir offers a picturesque motif for pictures and souvenir photos.
Many waterfalls also impressively demonstrate the power and beauty of this natural element. A walk along the Buchweißbach stream is unforgettable for families. The highlight, after just under two hours and a 4.6-kilometer walk, is the waterfall. The trail into the Stoissengraben is equally beautiful and adventurous. It's equally suitable for families and athletic hikers. After the magical waterfall, experienced hikers can climb up to the Peter Wiechenthaler Hut.

With us, water-conscious travel is easy!
Not only is water consumption conscious, but also protecting our beloved environment is important to us. At the Hotel der Löwe, we pay holistic attention to sustainability in our day-to-day operations. By constructing our buildings using energy-efficient technology, we save 90 tons of CO2 annually. Our laundry, which uses a dosing system, and our daily cleaning operations are designed to save as much water as possible. Our hotel kitchen also naturally strives to use as little water as possible. Careful selection of regional and seasonal products makes their way into our kitchen. Fresh herbs come from our own Löwengartl garden. This not only promises maximum flavor, but also a culinary journey with a clear conscience. As an eco-label hotel, we strive to protect the environment and natural resources - such as energy, water, air, and soil. All of the fittings in our rooms have therefore been replaced with water-saving ones.
Power place water in the Hotel der Löwe
A highlight for all water lovers is sure to be our new outdoor pool – the Steinbergpool in the Löwengartl. It is heated exclusively with geothermal energy, blending seamlessly into the pristine landscape. Löwen guests benefit from the positive energy of the water. True to Ayurveda, water represents the Kapha chakra and, in addition to boosting the body's immune system, promotes healthy joints. It's hardly surprising that swimming is considered one of the most gentle sports on the joints! The view of the water also soothes the soul. Combined with the fresh mountain air, the sound of the water's movement has a particularly stress-relieving effect.
Water-related activities
