On the 8th of January 2016, the "Lions Spirit" was No. 1 solemnly lifted from the baptism. The Saalfeldener distiller Siegfried Herzog has created together with Rupert Madreiter, a very special spirit for lovers of fine spirits. Siegfried Herzog is reigning champion Brenner 2015, Falstaff and for years he has been considered one of the best in his profession.
In January 2016, the limited edition was poured for the first time in the elite circle: Williams pear barrel matured. The Styrian bulbs come mainly from older trees and are harvested by hand. Different climates and terroirs give the fire an interesting and intense structure. After aroma of gentle distillation the one-year maturation followed in used barrels from allier oak for Lions Spirit No. 1. With its fruity pear opulent bouquet, balanced sweetness of honey, a soft texture and an expressive reverberation integrated oak tones of Lions Spirit will inspire the most refined palates.
A whole evening was devoted to "pear" in Leuven. Our chef Albert has offered together with our Dipl. sommelier a matching alpine gourmet menu on "pears". From aperitif to digestif guests were pampered and surprised with "pear". The grand finale was as a digestive the Lions Spirit Williams No. 1 tasting from the oak barrels and the evening came to a festive close in the Lions Lounge with “Herzogs various pears” and live music.
