Nostalgia SKI Firn Festival in Leogang
Skiing like in the old days with wooden skis without edges, traditional costumes with leather boots and a long pole for braking and steering. In March 2026, Saalfelden Leogang will once again be the venue for the most original form of skiing, when hundreds of retro ski enthusiasts will tackle the gates and the world champions will be determined.
The finish area at the Schanteilift is only 200 metres away from the Hotel Der Löwe.
Nostalgia Firn Festival in Leogang
Nostalgics from all over Europe will be taking part in the Nostalgia Firnfest on Saturday, 7 March 2026 in Leogang.
Experience a day full of fun, nostalgia and sporting challenges.
Competition: Slalom in 2 rounds
Start: 12:00 noon at the Schanteilift in Leogang (only 200 m from Hotel Der Löwe)
Prize giving: approx. 3:30 p.m. in the finish area
Participants will prove themselves on so-called ‘old skis’. These are wooden skis without steel edges, waxed, with leather ski boots without support above the ankle joint. Tradition and modernity come together in Leogang these days, showcasing the development of our community as a winter sports resort. Ski Heil and good luck at the Nostalgia Firnfest!
