Loewe cooking tip

Kaiserschmarren - the classic from the austrian kitchen

Ingredients for 1 portion

60 g flour
120 g milk
2 eggs
50 g sugar
Vanilla

grated orange peel
grated lemon peel
raisins
butter
powdered sugar

 

Instruction:

Mix the flour with the milk and 2 yolks.

Mix 2 egg whites with sugar and whip the mixture until its stiff, then proceed to fold it in.

Refine with vanilla, grated orange peel and lemon peel.

You can now add raisins if you like.

Heat the butter in a non-stick frying pan and slowly bake the mixture on one side until golden brown. Then turn the mass.

If both sides are golden brown, the mass will be cut into small pieces.

Then serve and dust with powdered sugar

 

Best served with:

  • Traditional „Grankenmarmelade“ (Cranberry jam)
  • Apple sauce
  • Stewed plums or
  • Fruit salad
