If you are looking for a small family-run hotel, this is the place for you. Food at its best, great wines. We are happy to fulfil individual wishes. It's not far to the mountain railway and it's quieter here. Very central and in the middle of nature without the hustle and bustle of the mountain railway. Massages are highly recommended and the new outdoor pool invites you to relax.

Are you travelling with the dwarves in the mountains between the Kitzbühel Alps and Leoganger Steinberge? Then you've come to the right place. To make hiking fun, we at the hiking hotel Der Löwe lebe frei have a tip for you: take the Asitzbahn cable car to the middle station. A sensory adventure park with 30 stations awaits the little adventurers there. While mum and dad relax on the adjacent Stöcklalm and have the kids in sight, the children can let off steam with like-minded people. Those who dare to take a short climb will reach the reservoir or the play trail at the mountain station.

A hiking backpack is available in every room and free Nordic walking poles can be borrowed from us at any time. We are also happy to wash your sportswear free of charge on request.
How and where can I get the Saalfelden Leogang Card?
You will receive the Saalfelden Leogang Card from us on arrival. This entitles you to free mountain and valley rides on the Asitz and Steinberg cable cars in Leogang and the Saalbach Hinterglemm cable cars as well as the chairlift on the Biberg. It also includes free travel on public transport in Pinzgau, guided hikes, admission to museums, swimming pools and much more.
Can I take my dog with me?
Yes, with pleasure. We are dog owners ourselves and love our Lea. That's why we were awarded a proud 4 paws by "Pfotencheck". Your dog can look forward to a welcome treat, dog blanket, towel and food bowl. Simply woof!
Can I also travel to my hiking holiday by train?
Very gladly indeed! We support direct bookers for this environmentally friendly travel option with a 3% environmental bonus on the room price and will be happy to pick you up from Leogang train station free of charge. You can borrow a rucksack and hiking poles from us free of charge or you will find them in your room. So your holiday starts in a relaxed way even before you arrive at the hiking hotel Der Löwe.
What should I not forget when hiking?
Enquire about the weather conditions and the level of difficulty before each tour. Even though there are many catered huts in Leogang: Always take enough drinks and small snacks with you. Make sure you have good footwear, don't forget sun protection and rain protection. A first aid kit, blister plasters, a change of clothes and of course a mobile phone are standard when hiking in the Leogang mountains. Our personal lion recommendation: TIME. Take plenty of it.
